My recent Country Tour took me to the Highlands of PNG where I visited four of the Highlands Provinces. One of them was the new Jiwaka Province, Nestled in the beautiful and fertile Whagi Valley. What a breathtaking experience!
visited several Schools in the Minz and Banz area, and their excitement was overwhelming. It was clear these students have not had a visitor like me before, but then again, how many huge fluffy birds do you see jet setting around the country creating so much excitement? So I am unique and something not many people would ever come across. That is exactly why I have to travel around the country so people that can’t make it to Port Moresby during the 2015 Pacific Games can meet me. Sometimes the only way they know of me is through TV and Newspapers but some of the areas I have gone to don’t have that luxury, and me being able to go to them is one of the most rewarding experiences of my existence. One such place was a little village deep up in the mountains, Modomil. I wasn’t scheduled to visit this little village but then word got to the team and I that, the kids up there had heard I was in the province so they all gathered and asked me to visit. When I got up there, the smiles and excitement on these kids’ faces just blew me away, that someone like me could bring so much joy to them. I will never forget the happy faces I saw. I danced for them, showing them my signature moves, then gave them ‘High Fives’ and of course made sure to get photos. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed being in Jiwaka to capture these moments.
